VETERAN PROGRAMS COORDINATOR (FT/PT)

Job Summary:

Island Harvest is looking for a military veteran with social services experience to join our organization either at Full-time or Part-time capacity. This critical role involves local community outreach and direct logistics to support our programs primarily focused on veterans and local community stability.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute monthly home deliveries to Veterans registered in the Program by ensuring safe and timely transportation of the supplies and inventory required for distributions.
  • Research and identify potential program support sites.
  • Coordinate community outreach efforts at selected sites.
  • Assess the needs of the community and individuals served by the program and Recommend Veterans in need of additional resources.
  • Perform routing and trip planning for distribution efforts.
  • Deal with difficult individuals while remaining professional and courteous

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have served in one of the five branches of the U.S. Military.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience driving a non-CDL box truck is preferred; candidates must be willing and able to learn to operate one successfully.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as general Internet use.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

Incumbents in this role must be available to work Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional Saturday availability as needed. The position requires flexibility to support both indoor and outdoor community sites, as well as frequent travel throughout the region. Candidates must also be able to repeatedly lift up to 40 pounds.

Hourly rate: $25.00/hr
