Island Harvest takes a comprehensive approach to hunger relief rescuing and distributing food, strengthening families through nutrition education, workforce training, and specialized programs for children, seniors, and veterans, and driving systemic change through advocacy for long-term hunger solutions.
Our Impact: Mobilizing 300+ Partners to Feed and Empower Our Neighbors
Through an extensive network of food pantries, soup kitchens, and direct service programs, we reach thousands of people each week – from hardworking parents to children, seniors, and veterans across Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Being part of Feeding America connects us to the nation’s top hunger relief network and ensures we meet the highest standards in food safety and program excellence, strengthening our ability to serve Long Islanders with dignity and impact.
Expanded Facilities: Built to Serve Our Community Better
With the opening of our 46,000 square foot Melville headquarters in 2021, Island Harvest gained the space to distribute over 21 million pounds of food each year and expand programs that strengthen communities.
