What’s at Stake?
Congress is preparing a budget reconciliation bill that will cut billions of dollars from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid. SNAP provides direct assistance for our neighbors in need to purchase food for themselves and their families. Medicaid provides health coverage for people living with low-income. Cuts to these programs will take food off the table and medical care away from Long Islanders most in need. Our children, grandparents, veterans, and neighbors will all be impacted.
