On Veteran’s Day Island Harvest was proud to partner with the Nassau County Police Unions for a food drive to benefit the Operation: HOPE Program. Together they raised a total of 4264 pounds supplementing approximately 3553 meals for our Veterans and their families and 89 Turkeys!!! The food was collected at King Kullen of Rockville …

The Adelphi University women’s basketball program donated their time on November 1 across four different supermarket locations in the area to participate in the Island Harvest “Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign. The proceeds to the event donates the fixings for Thanksgiving dinners to Long Island families who can not afford to provide for their families …
On a very windy, Sunday, November 2nd WBAB and WBLI held their annual Touch A Truck event at the Smith Haven Mall. Admission to the event was non-perishable food items for Island Harvest. The Long Island community came out in force donating more than 8,600 pounds.
Congratulations to Cub Scout Pack 601 from Mount Elementary School in Stony Brook. They participated in our Hunger Awareness Campaign for one week at the end of October and collected over 2,600 non-perishable food items and personal care products and over $300 in spare change to assist us in our important work! Way to go!!
