Special Events and Development Coordinator

ISLAND HARVEST has the following exciting position available in our Melville, New York office:

 

The Special Events and Development Coordinator is responsible for the advancement of Island Harvest’s mission through fundraising as it relates to special events, sponsorships, electronic giving, and raising the awareness of hunger through targeted philanthropic and cause marketing. This is a fundraising position which focuses on fundraising events and donor appreciation, cultivation, and other related activities. Responsibilities also include data entry and management and support organizational goals.  The coordinator will work in concert with the Chief Development Officer and be an integral part of the Development Team.  The qualified candidate will build key relationships with the business community, as well as individual contributors.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience in managing data and utilizing it to support the Development and special events activity with a high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of fundraising, event management for special events with the potential to generate $1 million in revenue is preferred.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with both staff and community-minded corporate volunteers with outstanding customer service skills is essential.
  • Knowledge of DonorPerfect is a plus.

Salary: $52,000 – $58,000 per year
