Newsdays Charities Grant for Island Harvest Food Bank Backpack Program and Food Collection and Distribution Program

Island Harvest Food Bank is exceptionally grateful for the continued financial resources Newsday Charities, a McCormick Foundation Fund has provided to help us address the critical issue of hunger on Long Island,” said Randi Shubin Dresner, president, and CEO, Island Harvest Food Bank. “For nearly ten years, their support of our Kids Weekend Back Feeding Program has supplemented thousands of meals for school children who rely on school breakfasts and lunches during the week, but often don’t have enough to eat when school is out.  Our longstanding partnership with Newsday Charities has, and continues, to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families struggling with food insecurity.
