As the weather warms up and summer approaches, hundreds of thousands of children across Long Island are eagerly anticipating the summer recess. Unfortunately, more than 90,000 children will lose access to school breakfast and lunch because of the summer break, and will spend July and August worrying where their next meal is coming from.

Won’t you contribute today and make a difference in the life of a child?

This summer, Island Harvest will distribute more than 100,000 FREE lunches and snacks to children through our Summer Food Service Program; stretching across more than 50 sites over ten weeks.

Jessica, a student from Phillips Avenue Elementary says….”From the bottom of my heart, I thank you…for food on ruff [sic] days; you also helped by making my family’s stomach filled, thank you for all you did.”

Your contribution today will support important programs such as this, and many others that help provide our neighbors living with hunger the opportunity to have food, support and services.

Island Harvest will distribute more than nine million pounds of food this year to 316,000 people-1 in every 10 Long Islander will receive food from the Island Harvest network of feeding programs!

We need your support more than ever. Your $100 contribution can help feed a child for almost four months, and your $250 contribution can help feed a child for nearly nine months. Please be as generous as your means permit, we cannot allow another child to go to bed hungry in our own backyard.

Please, be a neighbor Island Harvest can count on today and make a secure donation online.  Together, we are changing lives and changing communities.

Thank you,

President and CEO
