Island Harvest is excited to be starting its new Harvest to Home Program, which will provide prepared meal deliveries for up to 750 households per week between now and the end of December. We are looking to fill the following positions for this program:
Food Procurement Coordinator – receives requests for the order of specific food items from program schedulers and program coordinators/drivers, manages menu options using nutrition guidelines and input of Island Harvest Dietician, and manages all food orders with the Program Manager.
Program Scheduler – screens participants, assists in completing and reviewing applications, schedules deliveries using cell phones, laptops and technology specifically ordered for this program, in order to preserve the integrity of the grant funds and to ensure that there are no delays in waiting for equipment and technology used by other programs.
Program Assistant – provides support to schedulers, assists with fieldwork, completes all paperwork and reporting. This staff is hired exclusively for this program and will only be utilizing equipment and technology outlined in this proposal to ensure no delays in waiting for its availability from staff outside of this program.
Outreach Coordinator – will work in the community to meet with targeted community leaders, organizations, and individuals in the targeted population to encourage applications for the program. This staff is hired exclusively for this program and will only be utilizing equipment and technology outlined in this proposal to ensure no delays in waiting for its availability from staff outside of this program.
Grant Administrator – will provide financial and admin support services to the program staff and will be responsible for submitting claims and reporting.
Warehouse Personnel – coordinate inventory, confirm and stage product, load daily orders. Will ensure the integrity of the food, that the food is ready for each driver the night before and that all inventory and food safety protocols are met. Warehouse personnel will be pulling the product from inventory, working with the driver/coordinator to record and track the product and inspect it for food safety purposes.
Van Drivers/Program Coordinators – deliver meals, load, and unload the van. Must be able to communicate effectively with the public
Ideal candidates should have a demonstrated interest in hunger relief and anti-poverty issues and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
