Workforce Development Program Coordinator

Island Harvest has the following exciting position available in our Melville, New York office:
Workforce Development Program Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with carrying out the planning and execution of the new Workforce Skills Development Institute (WSDI) programs.
  • Draft and maintain boilerplate program documents (application, evaluation, attendance sheet, and other program delivery tools).
  • Collect and maintain participant document submissions.
  • Maintain data and prepare reports of program metrics and outcomes.
  • Manage and track logistical details (content access, training locations, field trips).
  • Coordinate employer visits, field trips and other corporate and employer engagement opportunities and events.
  • Coordinate instructor and training vendor paperwork and instructional content.
  • Coordinate certification testing requirements.
  • Support internal and off-site workforce events from information sessions through graduation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Communications or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience working in training/ workforce/professional development programs or student-facing initiatives and supporting in-person and/or virtual programs and events. Must have previous experience working with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of Long Island workforce needs.
  • Aptitude for working in a newly created role, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while working within deadlines and applying attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the Internet)
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
