Internship – Education and Outreach

The Education and Outreach Internship is an exciting opportunity for a passionate self-starter to learn how Island Harvest leverages community resources to build a just and resilient local food system. This position will connect the intern with a wide network of active community leaders, educators, and volunteers interested in working together to feed every person on Long Island.

Qualifications

  • Some knowledge of and interest in sustainable agriculture, gardening, and local food systems
  • Strong written and organizational skills, and sharp attention to detail
  • Passion for community outreach and education
  • Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Suite, Zoom

Job Duties

This position will support our Healthy Harvest Farm and Giving Gardens program by

performing administrative tasks including but not limited to coordinating with volunteers and agencies, performing research and data analysis for educational programs, and providing administrative support for meetings, volunteer events, educational programs, and tours.

 

Time requirements

10-25 hours per week, Mon-Sun according to availability.
