The Center for Combatting Hunger

‘Named after Micah, the Hebrew prophet who calls us to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God,” MICAH was formed in 2007 as a coalition of Long Island congregations, agencies and organizations to reach across communities and address the issues that are at the root of poverty and hunger.

In 2010 MICAH became a program of Island Harvest and is a part of our continuing advocacy efforts.

‘MICAH is comprised of 400 leaders from more than 270 congregations and agencies on Long Island. By uniting the faith community’s commitment to service and a grassroots network of action, we can further the reach and impact of our mission to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island.’
