Student Advocates
Island Harvest has started a brand new project to engage and unite as many students as possible to fight hunger on Long Island.
Because of their previous involvement with Island Harvest we asked them to participate and be in on the very beginning of this great new program...temporarily called the Student Advocacy Group or "SAG".
We invited about 30 students and their friends and family members to join us for our first planning/strategy meeting on Sunday, April 25. We had the opportunity to get to know each other, had some fun and at the same time began brainstorming to tackle the ever-increasing problem of hunger right here in our own communities.
Students already signed up to participate in upcoming events and several already have plans in place to implement programs and ideas in their own communities.
Be sure to check back for updates on a regular basis.
