The company has also sponsored our special events.Long Island Farm Bureau and its members have donated more than 600,000 pounds of fresh, healthy product to Island Harvest in 2008 and 2009.Thanks to their in-kind donation and installation of new carpeting, a visit to Island Harvest’s Mineola office will display how Hall’s Carpet can beautify any professional or living space.In addition to donating considerable product, NBTY awarded a generous capital grant for vital equipment (i.e. freezers, scales, jacks, etc) as well as freight underwritingFormer Islander Bob Nystrom and current Islanders Chris Campoli and Rick DiPietro are prominent spokesmen for Island Harvest and our mission of ending hunger and reducing food waste on Long Island. The Islanders have also graciously hosted special events.The Amazin’s host Island Harvest’s annual Home Run to End Hunger at Citifield. We have also partnered with them on special projects such as an official cookbook.In addition to financial support, RxR hosts the “Light Up Your Life” annual Tree Lighting to help raise funds for Island Harvest programs.
