2005 Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign Final Report
• Approximately 9,500 turkeys, hams, turkey coupons delivered
during campaign period.
• 6,529 Waldbaum’s trimmings bags sold at $7.00 each.
• In total, more than 1.9 million pounds of food delivered in November and December
2005.
• Over 1.5 million meals supplemented for those in need.
• $58,799 total campaign contributions and sponsorship support,

• $22,391 contributions restricted for turkey and gift card purchases.

Campaign promotional material and handled PR/Marketing work.
- Partnered
with the Long Island Radio Group on 8 radio remotes at
selected Waldbaum’s locations.
- Received 344 live and/or taped points
of exposure (total) from four Long Island Radio Group stations.
- All
locations of The Bristal Assisted Living, Panera Bread,
Citibank, Washington Mutual, and
selected 7-11 locations served as campaign drop-off sites.
- Love
96.1 did 3 radio remotes at Waldbaum’s locations and
BJ’s Wholesale
Club in Riverhead.
- WBAB hosted a radio remote at the Chevy Store Huntington.
- A turkey “stuff-the-truck” event
was coordinated by WBLI Radio.
- Herald Community Newspapers supported
the Campaign with pro-bono advertising.
- Celebrity presence,
including radio spots, done by Bob Nystrom supported the
Campaign.
- Campaign
PSA in-kind production/creative support from Dircks Associates
and Harrison Leifer DiMarco.
- Tremendous support from Cablevision
in airing 30-second PSA 340 times during the campaign period.
- Five
Stop and Shop stores names Island Harvest as recipient
of their Food for Friends Campaign.
- Pathmark, Shop Rite, C-Town and other
well-known supermarkets hosted 52 day-of food collections.
- In-kind
transportation support provided by J. Kings Food Services
Professionals, CPI Aero,
Legend Auto Group, Sign Works, and Riverhead Nissan.
- Over 225
non-perishable food collections were done by local businesses,
schools, and community partners.
