CSFP: the Commodity Supplemental Food Program provides supplemental food to New York State residents ages six and under OR 60 and over.

Summer Food Service Program: federally funded program operated nationally by the USDA that offers free lunch during the summer months to all low-income children ages 18 and under at various sites throughout the community.

The Kids Alliance – Weekend Food to Go Program: Island Harvest will be piloting the program in six school districts throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. Students who are at risk of hunger will be identified by school personnel and, with permission from parents/guardian, will be invited to participate in the program. Back Packs will be distributed on Friday and will include sources of protein, fruit, grain, and dairy. In addition we will include educational materials and other resource materials on nutrition, safe food handling, budget shopping strategies and much more.
