We are delighted that you are interested in partnering with Island Harvest to host a food drive. Here you will find the necessary information you will need to organize your project.
A food drive is a wonderful way to help our many neighbors on Long Island who know hunger first- hand. More than 300,000 Long Islanders turn to our network of more than 400 member agencies, including local food pantries, soup kitchens and other non profit feeding programs.
We appreciate your awareness of this year-round issue, and your willingness to be part of the solution. Last year, thanks to the dedication of volunteers like you, food drives generated nearly one million pounds of nutritious, shelf stable food. The more food that is donated, the more we can assure that everyone who needs assistance can get it.
We hope that you will also consider collecting funds as part of your drive. These collections will help Island Harvest support our food collection, education, outreach and so much more.
Food Drives collecting under 500 lbs. of food (approximately 500 items) must be delivered to one of our warehouse facilities.
